7th BOLOWOTAN GOLDEN CUP final: AACC fc emerge Winner for the third consecutive times

AACC football club of Igbogbo have crowned 7th edition of Gafar
Bolowotan Golden cup after they defeated their arch rival, Teslim
Thunder Balogun fc 5-4 via penalty shootout on Saturday, May 17 at
Police Barrack, Igbogbo in Ikorodu.
AACC with acronyms (African Athletic Community Club) have won the
trophy twice before and yesterday's victory made it three consecutive
time that the club have crowned champion, defeated young strikers fc
4-2 in 2012 and followed by 2-1 victory over destiny boys in 2013.
Teslim Balogun team led by Adeleke Ibiyemi, popularly known as Pepe,
who gained promotion to Nationwide Amateur League 2 last week came to
the party with all hope to win the trophy for the second time but is
was not as expected as Apanishile Adewale put smile on the face of
AACC fc supporters as he tapped in from close range to give AACC fc
half time lead.
However, Teslim Balogun boys began to dominate possession when the
second half kicked off and Onyemechi Daniel restored hope with a well
struck header to extend the time beyond 90minutes.
After the final whistle, the penalty kick followed immediately and
AACC players were lucky to found the net in all their spot kick while
Thunder Balogun fc missed one to end the game 5-4.
In a chart with AACC fc coach, Dino Gilmore expressed his great
feeling for becoming the only team to have won the trophy for the
third consecutive times.
Dino Gilmore thanked the organisers of the competition for the job
well done and plead for the continuation of the competition in such a
way to keep the youth in the community busy in the aspect of sport
activity.
also, Teslim Thunder Balogun fc coach, Adeleke Ibiyemi despite his
team loss thanked God that none of the players of both  teams were
injured during the encounter.
